Requirements

  • An employer can complete an application for a sponsor license to sponsor either regular employees or temporary workers. The licence they require, depending on the nature of work the employee will be performing, depends on the permit.

Worker License:

For skilled or long-term employments

Temporary Worker Licence:

A ‘Temporary Worker’ licence will let you sponsor workers on a temporary basis.

  • Creative Worker: Those working in the film industry, acting in plays, acting in movies, or engaging in the creative industry can work up to 2 years.
  • Charity Worker: The unpaid workers for a charity for up to 1 year.
  • Religious Worker: The individuals working in a religious order or organisation for 2 years.
  • Government Authorised Exchange: The work experience (1 year), research projects and training (2 years) to enable short term exchange of knowledge.
  • International Agreement: A worker to whom this job is covered by international law, such as employees of an overseas government is the type of worker that is the target of this visa.
  • Graduate Trainee: The worker transferring to a UK branch of his company’s corporate office as part of a graduate training programme.
  • Service Supplier: Employees contracting with an organization for 6 or 12 months to provide services to an organization in The UK.
  • UK Expansion Worker: For workers being sent to the UK to set up a new branch or subsidiary of an overseas business.
  • Secondment Worker: Employees transferring from a foreign country to work for a different business in the United Kingdom under a contract with high financial value.
  • Seasonal Worker: 6 months visa for Edible horticultural workers, such as botanical pickers and greenhouse managers

Required documents:

  • The documents required depend on the nature of your business and the region you are targeting.
  • All application materials must be submitted within five business days of the submission. Reports should stand in its original form. However, the Home Office might certify the originals if necessary.
  • To back up your requirements, you will need to send particular proof. Unless it is necessary, you will usually need to provide four documents.

The Sponsor Licence rating?

  • A-rated license: If your application is approved and will be listed in the register of sponsors.
  • B- Rated License: If you do not meet your duties as a sponsor. In this situation, the UKVI will provide you with an action plan which you will need to follow to upgrade your licence back to an A-rating.

The Sponsorship Management Roles?

Rejection:

Companies are advised to refrain from having their sponsorship of an entity application refused whenever possible because the application fee is not refunded, and companies are not able to re-apply until a suitable waiting period has passed.

The rejection range will depend on the rationale for the application. Most businesses will not be able to reapply for at least six months after the date of the refusal letter.

In case your sponsor license application is rejected, you are not permitted to appeal the choice. You might have the chance to request an administrative review, but this does not guarantee that the decision will be reversed.
